Candirú

Every so often, FARK comes up with something truly wierd. This is one of those times. A fish that reportedly wedges itself in your urethra. What really got me though, was a short, largely hidden quote towards the end:

There are no confirmed reports of deaths or penectomies–several cases of the latter are thought to have run afoul of piranha.

Because if there’s one thing worse than a Candirú up your urethra, it’s a piranha biting it off entirely.

    Um… ow?

Of course, a piranha biting it off is clearly the “fix” for a stuck fish, as it were.

i have been studying the candiru fish aka willy fish and vampire catfish it is a parasite and it is true the candiru is attracted to urea excreted from a catfish’s gills in the amazon river and if you are urinating in the river it picks up the smell and is attracted to it therefore swims up the urethra lodging it’s spiny hooklike fins and then sucks the blood of the host eventually devouring the entire inside of the host but…..it is extremely rare for candiru to enter humans most of the time it is by mistake i posted this in order to inform you better of this parasite in case you have not studied up on it
