		<description>The extra time devoted to running behind a firewall, running firefox, and turn on automatic updates is almost zero.  

The number one reason to stick with Windows on a network is cheap aquisition cost.  Why pay more for something that is stable and usable with minor tweaks? 

There is a difference between buying quality used equipment which is really cheap, and buying crappy cheap hardware.

My post was a reaction to people who were attacking Windows, and trying to convert a friend of mine to switch.  That is why so much of the post was explaning away the apparent weaknesses of Windows.  

I like Linux too because it does some truly cool stuff.  The cost is in the learning curve but it can do some great things.
