Thanks for posting about something that you didn’t take the time to research. The add-in includes an html preview dialog (in the settings dialog) and clearly doesn’t use word’s html. You made an assumption and you’re wrong.

Would like to hear your opinion on exactly why the html is bad. The add-in does not rely on Word’s generated html but rather includes it’s own html engine that creates the html. Feel free to email me your thoughts, the address provided is a real email address.

For the record, if you are looking for a way to clean up Word HTML, you want to grab the W3C’s Tidy or one of the ports to other languages (such as JTidy).
