Simple HTTP Caching Introduction
Dear Lazy Web,
Can anyone point me to a simple introduction to HTTP caching? I know quite a lot about it and can just dive into the relevant standards, but I’m writing an article that will be read by people who have never heard of HTTP cache control headers before and I’d like to give them a good starting point.
Thanks,
Lazy author, er believer in reuse…

This article on MNot has an excellent overview of the whole issue.

When I hear HTTP Caching, instantly Squid springs to mind. Their website has some texts that could be useful:

Errr… maybe a silly question, but why does this website display a monkey head in front of my post?

Odi,
The monkey head is a placeholder if you don’t have a Gravatar image set up. I was just thinking the other day that I should explain it but it’s hard to explain my obsession with monkeys in the first place, let alone why I assigned you a picture of a monkey…
It is a cute friendly monkey though… :)

hi there,
good. I was looking forward to a definite guide on “HTTP CACHING” which I will share with my colleagues. Bring it on.
