Bachelor Pad

I was just wondering what to have for dinner and realized that I just don’t give enough credit to the good folks who keep me fed, so having grabbed a quick bowl of cereal (Sultana Bran for what it’s worth) I came back upstairs to investigate who invented that traditional food of the bachelor – 2 minute noodles. I couldn’t find anything even vaguely related to that, but I did stumble across this amusing thread. Among my favorite quotes:
but super noodles _can_ be eaten straight from the pack. and rather nice they are too followed by:
Having just tried it, I am unable to endorse charl’s “eat Super Noodles raw” recommendation. Personally, I quite like Maggi 2 minute noodles raw; just make sure you only put half the flavoring on, it’s a lot stronger when it’s not watered down. This however is taking the concept a little too far:
In fact, the Kaptain likes many foods ‘in the raw’. Once the Kaptain even ate a quantity of frozen oven chips for dinner, sucking them in his mouth until they warmed sufficiently to be bitten through. Hard eatings, but no preparation! The subsistence diet (the one American nutritionists worked out in the 60s as the cheapest way to survive on simple foodstuffs) is four peanut butter sandwiches, three glasses of cold milk and a vitamin pill. (of course your diet is 40% fat, but it keeps you alive for quite a long time) Excellent! Now I just need to find some milk that’s not off and a vitamin pill!
